Radiate Digital Before After

Fashion designers typically wear very stylish clothes.  Car guys usually have a pretty sweet car.  Personal trainers tend to be in really good shape.

It only makes sense that as website creators, our own site is among our very best work.  So a little over a year ago, we put in some extra hours to create a brand new Radiate Digital.

After all, our website tends to be the first website potential clients see.  And we’re all about making a first impression.

Take a moment to check out our old site and our new one.  We hope you like it!  And if you don’t, don’t worry, we may or may not be working on a new one….

Intern Time with Chrissie

We asked Chrissie, our marketing intern, to share some thoughts about the work she’s been doing here over the past few months.  Here’s what she had to say.  We promise, no bribes were exchanged in the creation of this post.

to share some thoughts about the work she Intern Time with Chrissie

Well it’s been about two and a half months since I began interning here at Radiate Digital, and I’ve learned way more than expected.

I have been doing design and writing, which includes making wireframes, editing pictures, blogging, etc.

I have never worked for a web marketing or web design company before.  My previous internships were much different. They focused more toward social media and promotions, which taught me that I did not enjoy those job areas very much.

As a Media Communications major at North Central University, I am being prepared to work in many different fields in media (graduating in May!). This major is very broad, which can be a good thing and bad thing. It can make it difficult to decide what areas I want to work in, but the opportunities are somewhat endless!

A Little Bit of Everything

At Radiate Digital, I like how I am assigned to do multiple projects that are significantly different because it helps me see what I enjoy the most. Since the past couple of months here, I have enjoyed making wireframes (for upcoming web designs) the most. It’s exciting to see how the wireframe is turned into the final design for our client’s websites.

When it comes to writing, I wouldn’t consider it as my strong suit. I remember my first day here, Tim assigned me to write a blog post, and I had no idea where to even begin. But since then, blogging for our clients has helped me gain experience and become more familiar with it. It’s also not as difficult as I thought it would be, and I always learn something new when researching each topic.

The Radiate Culture

I also can’t forget that I love the environment at Radiate Digital. There’s never a dull moment, whether it’s trying to force country music on Tim (and failing) or experiencing Jaron’s hilarious mental breakdowns. But, I can honestly say that I have learned more at Radiate Digital than I have at my previous internships or maybe it’s just because I enjoy the work more… and of course the people!

If you or someone you know is looking for an internship, we’d love to hear about your skills!  We are always looking for new interns at Radiate Digital.   Just hop on over to our contact page and send us an email!

New Salon Marquee has Launched!

Salon Marquee is one of our oldest clients.  In fact, we built their previous website.  By we, I mostly mean Steve.  It was a fine website in its day, but the internet has come a long way since then, and so have we.

See for yourself:

Salon Marquee has a beautiful lakeside location in Wayzata, MN.  That was something we really wanted to convey in this webdesign.  If you visit the full website, you’ll see some lake images incorporated throughout.

This website really shows what some professional photography can do for you.  Salon Marquee is an elegant salon, and it was important that we showed that in the website.  If you’re near Wayzata, MN, and you’re in need of some beautification, we highly recommend Salon Marquee.

They’re great people.

Fun Fact:  I [Timothy, the project manager] called and set up the initial meeting with these guys.  It was during my sales phase.  That phase didn’t last long.

Have you ever seen a website that was ruined by the photography (or lack thereof)?

[April Fools] Radiate Digital Gets Acquired by Google

It’s official.

Radiate Digital has achieved the dream of every technology/development/design company out there:

We’re being acquired by Google!

Yes, that Google.

In addition to creating  amazing products and platforms such as Gmail, Chrome, Android, and well, Google.com, Google is known for absorbing up-and-coming businesses and bringing them under their wing.

Radiate Digital will soon be joining the ranks of YouTube and Blogger as an official Google owned brand.

(WIP Logo)

Now, you may have a few questions as to what this means for our company, for yourselves, and for all of the work we do.  So we thought we’d step back from celebrating long enough to give you a few answers.

Was This the Plan All Along?

Yes.  Yes it was.

Like most tech and design based companies, Steve founded Radiate with the soul intention of one day being purchased by Google.  Now that the dream has come true, he is selling off some of his newly acquired Google shares to purchase a small island near Thailand, his mother’s home country.

If you have trouble reaching Steve over the next few weeks/months/years, well, now you know why.

How Did it Happen?

We first caught Google’s attention when we got several of our clients to number 1 in various Google searches.  After that, they began watching us, contemplating if they should bring us in before we shared our search engine marketing secrets with others.

It was then that they discovered we also do web design and branding. Once they realized we offered the best of both marketing and cutting edge design, they knew they had to have us.

What Does this Mean for Our Clients?

Things are about to get even better than they were before.

Why?

Because…Google.

Is Radiate Digital Doing Any Direct Work for Google?

As a matter of fact, yes, we will be creating some in house stuff for Google itself.  The first project on our plate?  Redesigning the famous Google homepage.  It’s a pretty big deal.  In fact, when we informed one of our designers about the project, he had a heart attack.

Literally.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Bojan’s family as he recovers in the hospital.  Doctors say he will be on his feet by the end of the month.

Meanwhile, we’ve started on the homepage without him.  We probably shouldn’t be showing this, but check out what we have so far:

We know, we know.

It’s pretty radical.

But frankly, we believe the world is ready for a bolder, brighter Google.

Adding color to the buttons will completely revolutionize the way people search.  And if we’re being honest, most everyone has forgotten that “I’m Feeling Lucky” button is even there.

We’re a little surprised Google didn’t already think of this, but if they did, we suppose they wouldn’t have needed to acquire us.

Moving Forward

We appreciate your patience as we go through this major branding transition.  We will continue to work on all of our active projects just as before.  If you have any questions or concerns, please email us.

Or you can always share them in the comment section below.

We hope you are as excited for us and we are for ourselves.

What do you think of the big acquisition?  Are you surprised? Elated? Let us know below!

(*note: this story is our first ever April Fools joke.  We hope you enjoyed it!)
